14 weeks have flown by!

Our adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth.
Wow - 14 weeks. I can't believe I am definitely in the 2nd trimester! Looking back, when I found out I was pregnant, I was exactly 4 weeks along. It seemed like it would take forever to reach this point. I don't know if it was the holidays or what, but it has really flown by. I am starting to feel a little better. I am not nauseous every single day, all day anymore. More like twice a week, it still really strikes. I am totally sure that I have a baby bump now. My stomach is very hard and not at all flabby with a little convex curve to it! I love it!

Christmas Eve and Christmas day were great. We drove out to Madison for Christmas Eve to spend it with Coreys family. His Brother and Sister-in-law got me what I am calling baby in a bottle ... Burts Bees Baby Bee shampoo and Baby Lotion and some Mama Bee Lotions as well! Mmmmm Baby Bee smells so good, like I always imagined my newborn would smell. One smell of that and I am so ready to hold bun in my arms. 25 More weeks, Bun! We can't wait.
Then we drove to Chicago to be with my family. We drove down Christmas Eve night so we could celebrate Christmas Morning with the fam (we do gifts under the tree in the AM like we are kids getting presents from Santa and a big breakfast) then we went to Church and came home and started helping my mom prepare for Christmas dinner. My mom is so great, she bought me about 10 Maternity shirts and told me to pick out whatever I wanted (I only didn't like 3 of them)and told me it was part of my Christmas presents. Bun got onsies from my sister Kristin, that say I love my Mommy and Daddy, My sister Jackie and her Husband got Bun the DVD with all the Christmas classics on it, My Aunt Rose got me What to Expect in the first year and a Mat shirt, and my Aunt Mary, Aunt Joyce, and Grandma got Bun bath toys, fisher price rings, baby monitor, baby proofing kit, and a whole bunch of Chicago Bears gear that will last him/her their entire first year! Corey also got Bun a gift - a brand new Wubby! (really soft waffle blanket!)

It was a great Christmas all around and Corey and I got some great gifts as well, our families are too generous, so I cant list them all, but I can tell you my husbands favorite gift of them all..... A brand new-to-us 2001 Chevy Venture - yes, everyone, that is a minivan. haha. My parents were planning on giving it to my sisters husband since he had just gotten back from Iraq and didn't have a car, but they bought their own so Corey asked if he could have the van and my parents gave it to him! LOL - Its funny because Corey drives a red sportscar (Dodge SRT-4) and is really into cars, the last person you would ever expect to want a minivan, but he LOVES the thing. He drives it everywhere and calls it his luxury ride. (Well to be fair, he was driving around my old car in the winter, to avoid driving his SRT- a 98 Chevy Caviler with 160,000 miles on it and a crack in the windshield) We put the caviler up for sale that day and sold it for 700! Yay - goes into the Bun fund. As we like to call it! SO all in all it was a great Christmas, I am so happy to be in the 2nd tri and I cant wait for more changes to Come. 30 days till we find out if Bun is a girl or boy!!!!!!
