My Visit with Brody Bear!

I had another appointment with the perinatalogist today, and it was really great! Brody is doing very well, although he is still measuring big! The majority of his measurements put him at 29 weeks and 1 day, but his head is putting him at 30 weeks and 1 day! Yikes! He better decide to come early, because at the rate we are going, he is going to be a very big baby!
My Perinatalogist also suggested to me that I switch OBs --- he said that he was not happy with the way she was communicating with me(or lack of communication, I should say)or himself, or the neurologist, and the fact that she is not getting things done and does not even want to listen to my birth plan. So I am - I am switching today and I have my first appointment with my new OB next week. Hopefully this works out a little better!

28 weeks :)

And a Bare belly shot:

How far along? 28 weeks - Only 84 days to go!

Total weight gain/loss: 22 #'s total

Stretch marks? None! I keep on lathering up on the cocoa butter!

Sleep: Sleeping good Thursday night and Friday night, but it still seems like I cannot get enough of it, I am always ready for a nap these days.

Best moment this week: Well, I know this is supposed to be baby related, but the best moment this week was taking 3rd place (out of 15 guys!) in a poker tournament at our house, I won my $$ back, and then Corey won first place, he won 90 bucks!

Movement: Oh yeah! He has a pattern now...from 12pm-1pm he is the MOST active ever, moving everywhere non-stop. Also from 2-3 and from 8-10 pm

Food cravings: Grapefruit, fruit salad, strawberries..... chocolate cadburry mini eggs

Labor Signs: Nope. (Lets keep it that way for ...um... another 7 weeks at least, please!) Although I did experience my first BH contractions on Tuesday night.

Belly Button in or out? totally Flat, but not out yet!

What I miss: Nothing!

What I am looking forward to: My Ultrasound this week! - My baby Shower! 21 days! - Being done with these Dr.s appointments - Being in labor and having our baby. Seriously, I cannot wait.

26 weeks and counting!

How far along? 26 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 21 #'s total

Stretch marks? Nope not yet!

Sleep: Sleeping a lot. Lots of naps, I am just so exhausted the past few days.

Best moment this week: Not Baby related, but surprising Corey at his party!

Movement: "pedaling" I heard about this earlier this week, but I felt it last night. It is so cool, like the baby is taking little steps! He starts about 2 inches above my belly button and ends about an inch below, with 3-4 little steps in between!

Food cravings: Grapefruit, fruit salad, strawberries

Labor Signs: Nope. (Lets keep it that way for ...um... another 9 weeks at least, please!)

Belly Button in or out? Flat, but not out yet!

What I miss: Sleeping Comfortably!

What I am looking forward to: Being done with these Dr.s appointments - Being in labor and having our baby. Seriously, I cannot wait.
- My baby Shower! - L & D classes - they start next week in 8 days to be exact!

How big is baby: Your baby's current height and weight (about 10-11 inches tall and two pounds), and at the rate he or she is growing, your baby will soon be feeling a little cramped in your uterus. Not to worry, there's still plenty of room for your baby to grow. It just means your gymnast will have less room for those somersaults, cartwheels, and other Olympic feats. Look what else is going on this week: Your baby's brain-wave activity is kicking in at this stage in fetal development, which means your little one can not only hear noises but can now also respond to them. Not in so many words, of course, but with an increase in pulse rate or activity. Your baby is able to see what's going on now (unfortunately the view in your uterus isn't all that exciting). But do try this at home for kicks (baby's that is): Shine a flashlight at your stomach. Your baby might kick in response (as in: "Get that light out of my eyes!").

15 more to go!

How far along? 25 weeks!

Total weight gain/loss: 21 #'s total - Just found out last night.

Stretch marks? Nope not yet!

Sleep: Sleeping great with my body pillow!

Best moment this week: Corey finishing the nursery and my mom getting us our shower present early: The bedding!!!!!

Movement: Kicking, punching, elbowing, somersaults - apparently Brody takes the 2am Turbokick class at Gym a la Leannes belly!

Food cravings: Right now all I want is a good breakfast. But as always, grapefruit.

Labor Signs: Nope. (Lets keep it that way for ...um... another 10 weeks at least, please!)

Belly Button in or out? Flat, but not out yet!

What I miss: Not really until this weekend, but a good glass of wine.

What I am looking forward to: Being done with these Dr.s appointments - Being in labor and having our baby. Seriously, I cannot wait. - Coreys Surprise party. - My baby Shower! Spring! Grilling tonight!

Weekly Wisdom: I've got nothing.

Milestones: Brody is doing great at my OB appt last night.

How big is baby: Your baby is about nine inches long and more than a pound and a half in weight this week. And don't look now (as if you could), but your baby's skin is turning pinker as small blood vessels form under the skin and fill with blood. Lungs and nostrils are also growing at this stage of fetal development
Weeks 25-28 -

How big am I: In my new Mat. Scrubs!! These are like the sisterhood of the traveling maternity pants. They have been passed around from 3 different girls that I work with now!

Best Corey QOTW: "My new favorite thing to do is play music for Brody and feel him kick" AWWWWW!!!

On another note - I don't feel like writing a seperate post for this, but our plan on asking for a c-section got shot down last night. Apparently a c-section will raise the pressure in my head just as much as active pushing will. So.... my OB talked to Corey and I about the spinal tap procedure, explained the risks and benefits, told us it was totally safe for the baby as long as they do not use flouroscpoy, and is right now pulling some strings so I can just get it done by this new neuro and not have to go for another 3 hour long Neuro workup - for the third time. Whatever. The good news is, is that if they find nothing, which they suspect the wont, I get to have a normal labor, with pushing and everything. If they do, I will be HEAVILY drugged up (with an epi) and allow labor to happen naturally, and when the baby crowns to use the vaccuum to asssit. (sorry if TMI) .... So I guess we'll see.

Happy Viability Week to Brody and I!

How far along? 24 Weeks! Viability day!!!!!

Total weight gain/loss: 20 #'s total - may have lost a lb or 2 on my vacay! A lot of walking!

Stretch marks? Nope not yet!

Sleep: I had a great week of sleep being in San Diego!

Best moment this week: - Brodys first trip to San Diego (haha)

- Seing him move for over an hour straight (I fell asleep watching him move!) I could watch that all day long.

Movement: Kicking, punching, elbowing, somersaults!

Food cravings: I want my crab cake sandwhich from the Wavehouse - its only a 5.5 our plane ride away! And still grapefruits and oranges!

Labor Signs: Nope. (Lets keep it that way for ...um... another 11 weeks at least, please!)

Belly Button in or out? Flat, but not out yet!

What I miss: San Diego, Living in Vegas, Being WARM! Oh ... and not so much of anything pre-pregnancy. (maybe seeing my feet!)

What I am looking forward to: -getting the wood floors done in Brodys room. - Putting together the furniture. - Being in labor and having our baby. Seriously, I cannot wait. - Coreys Surprise. - My baby Shower (only a month and a week away!)

Weekly Wisdom: Hmmm....

Milestones: Viability Day! If Brody is born now, he would have a chance of surviving.

How big is baby: Brody is about 1 lb and 5 oz and is just over a foot long! ( as of the week 23 u/s!
Your baby's muscles are now well developed and you will feel baby using them. Little wrinkles are starting to appear on the palms and fingertips. Whilst smaller foetuses suck their thumbs instinctively, your baby is now able to consciously suck his or her thumb and may do so in a regular pattern.

We're having a boy!!

Yesterday was one of the best days ... we went to our big ultrasound and found out we are going to have a boy. I can't even believe it. I grew up with 2 sisters, no boys in our house at all (well, besides my dad!), so this is a huge excitment not only for Corey and I, but for our families as well! The ultrasound tech asked us if we could tell the sex of the baby and we both knew it right away!

I was so happy I cried! (well to be honest, I probably would have been the exact same if they said its a girl!) Then they went on to check everything - and I mean everything. Heart, spine, lungs, bladder, kidneys, head, umbilical cord, stomach, and to make sure the bones were growing properly in the arms, legs, fingers and toes! Check to all of the above - Bun (or Baby B - we'll keep you guesssing for a bit!) looks great! First they did the sex, because he was in perfect posistion. Then they checked the heart. All 4 chambers, the aortic arch... looking great!

Then the spine!

Then the arms, legs, hands, and feet. These little feet and hands are so cute!

Then we got to look at his adorable little face!

and profile!

Wow, what a day! Then my parents took us out to dinner and Coreys parents joined us! They brought us the cutest gifts:
My parents got us the turtle from build a bear (we <3 turtles, and look at his shirt!) and Coreys parents got us the cute little clothes!

We had a great time at dinner. I am so glad our parents came out to celebrate this day with us! After dinner I was exhausted from the day, so much excitment :) And finally news that was all good! Our baby looks perfect, all the u/s nurse kept saying were things like: what a looker, wow the heart looks so great, what a pretty spine! It was awesome! Well I think I flooded my blog with enough pictures for one day... but I have to update with my 18 week belly pic!
