I can't believe it -

It says Pregnant!

So I woke up yesterday to a huge temp spike- I know it was only 10 DPO, but I took a HPT yesterday and I thought I saw a line, but wasn't sure - it was so faint. So this morning, I took another one and there was another line - faint again. But def a line. So I confirmed with a digital and almost died of shock when "pregnant" popped up!! It took all of my self control in the world not to scream. (It was 6am) But Corey was still asleep , just about to wake up and get in the shower and I wanted to tell him like I always planned. So I quick got in the car and raced to the grocery store (in my pj's still) and asked the only person I could find to blow up a congrats balloon. I took 2 flower cards ( that go in bouquets) and they said "its a girl" and " its a boy" so I wrote on them... is it a mini pingers? or mini dingers? (our nicknames) and put that on the shelf in our bathroom. On the bed I tied the balloon to a stuffed turtle on our bed and put a bunch of onesies I got ( "I love my daddy" and turtle ones - we have a thing for turtles) in a gift bag with my pg test in a gift box.... When he got out of the shower he got the cards and was like "WHAT?, DO we have a bun???!!!!" I started crying and he started tearing up and doing a happy dance around the room. Its so surreal. I went to the doctor already ( advantage of being diabetic) and they really didn't tell me anything I don't already know. I have to go in with FMU tomorrow so they can confirm :) I have an appt on Nov 19th with the high risk team of doctors and surgeons. I am thrilled, scared, and being very cautious right now.

Corey didn't even fully want to believe it was true until I took another test tonight. So we got home from work I took another cheapie test - very faint line again - he said he didn't see it. So I took another digital. Again it popped up pregnant. Wow.

So here goes our journey of pregnancy for the next nine months and me being a pregnant diabetic.....

Yay!!!

I got a new Doctor yesterday!!!!!!! She sounds awesome and I can't wait to meet her. Oct 1st is my appointment. :)
Otherwise I am having a good week so far. Really tired, lots of cramps and backaches since Friday night, so I am sure AF is on her way any day. Although she was due today, so of course that gives me a bit of hope. I keep having these intense BFP or pregnancy dreams, and I wake up all disappointed. Last night I dreamt I was 3 months pregnant and I could see the baby moving inside of me, very weird. The night before I dreamt I got a BFP and called my cousin to tell her we would be due at the same time (she got a BFP this weekend). Ahhh I am going crazy over here :)
Well I am going to go lay on the couch and watch sex and the city now. The movie came out today, so I am excited to watch it, even though I already saw it.

A test is not just a test, anymore.

Even more frustrating than a BFN - A 263 blood sugar reading. Ahhhh! I haven't had one of those in months. I have worked so hard to keep my numbers in normal range (70-110 for me) and then this happens today. Frustrating because if for some reason I was pg right now that could potentially really harm the baby. Being a diabetic and TTC is scary business. I try to act like everything will just be normal for me during this time, but the truth is: I am really scared. What if something goes wrong. Will it be my fault? Will my diabetes be to blame?

I have met with my specialist very regularly and he assures me, that while I have to be more careful than most, I can have a normal and healthy pregnancy( just add in a few hundred extra doctor appts ;)

When I get a # like that on my meter, though, wow, its shocking. I didn't even eat anything bad. Well luckily with my pump I will be back to normal in no time. But still frustrated.

On a lighter note, Corey is back home and we had a great weekend. A friends wedding on Friday night, where we met some really great people. Sat. was just a nice lazy weekend day full of movies and lasagna :) We watched Sleepless in Seattle, Erin Brokovich, Pretty Woman, The Wedding Date, and Smart People.... and had a totally unproductive day!! (it was so worth it)

Today is laundry, house cleaning, and paperwork day, fun :( Hope my numbers go down soon!

<------ That's my pump, it holds insulin that I get 24/7. That is what is going to keep me and our baby (when it happens) healthy and happy!

My very first crosshairs.

So Corey and I have been actively ttc all through August and now into September. I am charting each day and we just cannot wait for the day that a BFP shows up.

I took Corey to the airport last night for a business trip and realized how much I miss him when he is gone. I could not sleep and stayed up until midnight, even though I went to bed at 10! I was playing in my head how I am going to tell him when it happens. SO many different ways. I came up with a really good one. I am going to take Tommy the turtle and tie a balloon around his hand that says congratulations! Also, Cor has always wanted a camcorder for when we have a baby, so I am going to buy a camcorder as well :) I think he will get it!

One of the reasons I am so bummed out about pingers being out of town is that I [thought, I was anyways] am going to O this week and he will be gone. But FF tells me that I already o'd and we bd'd around that time, so here's to hoping! I am just going to keep praying every night that we get our miracle.

Until next time....

Ready!

So.... We decided to start trying last month; we were walking through a store (well booth) ant state fair- that has the cutest picture frames all made out of wood and carved into the wood are quotes. We were looking at the ones for wedding photos when Corey (sometimes I will refer to him as pingers) said that he liked another one. It was a family frame. I told him, we didn't have a family yet and he said "well... I want one... " and I said "I know you do, just not now" and smiled. He said "no, I want one now, I want to have a baby with you!" So we decided to start trying! I am happy and excited, and ready.

I have been preparing for this since April because of my diabetes, and when you even start thinking about a baby, you need to make sure your diabetes is completley under control. I got on an insulin pump and got my numbers into perfect range within 2months, and now 5 months later, we can safley try :)

I know its going to be a crazy and maybe long journey and from the start I wanted to keep a blog about everything that happens from trying, to concieving, carrying, and having a baby!

Here we go!
